Navy Federal Launches New Flagship Premier Card With Dual Offers

Navy Federal Credit Union launched its Flagship Premier Visa Signature card with two welcome offers running at the same time, and the bigger one sits on a separate preapproval page.

The public card page advertises 50K bonus points worth $500 after $4K of spending in the first 90 days.

A separate preapproval page offers 90K bonus points, a $900 value, after $5K of spending in the same window. That offer runs through Jan. 3, 2027.

The gap is 40K points, or $400, for $1K of extra spending. Welcome bonus competition has its own scorecard.

Doctor of Credit flagged the launch on Nov. 3, noting the bonus now looks like 90K points after originally going out by mailer, with nothing in the terms visibly restricting other applicants.

The annual fee is mostly covered by one credit

The card charges a $95 annual fee.

It pays a $100 annual airline statement credit once a cardholder spends $100 or more on eligible airline purchases in a year, which covers the fee with $5 to spare. The annual fee math has a longer history.

Only purchases coded as airline or air carrier transactions count, and unused credit doesn't roll over to the next year.

Cardholders also get up to $120 in statement credits toward Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fees once every four years.

Earning runs at 4x points on travel, 3x on dining, and 1x on everything else, with no booking portal required.

The tradeoff is that points can't move to airline or hotel loyalty programs. Redemptions are limited to cash, travel, gift cards, and merchandise, which caps the ceiling for frequent-flyer optimizers.

CardCritics rated the card 4.7 out of five and called the $95 fee easy to justify for anyone spending at least $100 a year on eligible airline purchases.

Membership remains the gate. Only eligible Navy Federal members can apply, and the issuer points to very good to excellent credit.

Existing Flagship Rewards holders pay the fee either way

Navy Federal told current Flagship Rewards cardholders their annual fee rises to $95 effective Nov. 2, 2026, whether they upgrade or keep the old card.

The old card previously carried an Amazon Prime credit, which the new one replaces with the airline credit.

Upgrading requires no application or credit check, and the rewards balance, account anniversary date, card number, and credit limit all carry over.

Upgraders get 10x points on qualifying travel purchases, capped at 15K total points worth $150, during their first 90 days.

The switch is one-way. Once the upgrade processes, moving back to Flagship Rewards isn't possible.

The old card earned 3x on travel and 2x on everything else. The new one pays more on travel and dining and less on general spending, so heavy non-category spenders lose ground.

For anyone eligible and applying before January, the two live offers differ by $400, and the larger number sits on a separate preapproval page.
