Bitcoin, Ether and Solana ETFs Post Weekly Losses Totaling $1.25B

US spot crypto ETFs shed about $1.25B in the week ended Oct. 9, with bitcoin, ether, and Solana funds all finishing in the red.

Bitcoin funds led the exits at $681.1M, ending three straight weeks of inflows. Ether products lost $542.1M, their worst week since January.

Solana ETFs gave up $24.8M, the largest weekly outflow since the products launched in late October 2025. The previous record was an $8.9M outflow in the week ending Feb. 6.

The Solana redemptions snapped a 14-week inflow run. Two weeks earlier, those funds pulled in $188.2M, their second-biggest week on record, before inflows slowed to $2.4M.

Net assets in Solana funds fell 8.9% over the week, from $1.90B to $1.73B. Only about $25M of that $170M decline came from redemptions, with the rest reflecting price moves.

BlackRock's ether fund did most of the damage

BlackRock's ETHA accounted for $477.0M of the ether category's withdrawals, roughly 88% of the total, per SoSoValue data. Grayscale's ETHE was a distant second at $31.9M.

The ether outflow streak reached nine consecutive trading days starting Sept. 29, worth $697.2M in cumulative redemptions. The last time the category posted a weekly figure this ugly was late January, when $611M walked out the door.

Bitcoin's exits were concentrated in two sessions, with $487.07M withdrawn on Wednesday and $244.13M on Thursday. A $21.13M inflow on Friday softened the total.

Fund-level damage was uneven. Fidelity's FBTC lost roughly $380.3M, Ark & 21Shares' ARKB shed $207.2M, and Grayscale's GBTC gave up $47.5M, while BlackRock's IBIT finished slightly positive with about $1M in net inflows.

XRP was the rare bright spot

XRP ETFs added $11.31M, extending their inflow streak to 13 weeks. That left the four main groups with combined redemptions of roughly $1.24B.

Smaller products also leaked. Zcash ETFs lost $30.7M and Hyperliquid funds shed $9.4M, leaving every tracked category negative for the week.

A separate count using Farside Investors data put combined outflows at $1.29B across five tracked categories for Oct. 5 to 9, with Bitwise's BSOL responsible for most Solana redemptions.

Bitcoin itself fell 3.3% over the week, and ether slipped below a price level traders watch closely.

The week shows how fast the flow picture can flip. Three weeks of bitcoin buying reversed in two trading sessions.
