Fox Corp reported quarterly revenue of $4.21B, a 28% increase year-over-year, as the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup sent advertising revenue surging 78%.
The tournament, which ran through June and July across North America, averaged roughly 7.7M viewers per match across Fox's broadcast, pay TV, and streaming platforms.
The Spain vs. Argentina final drew nearly 39M viewers, a record for Fox's platforms according to Nielsen.
CEO Lachlan Murdoch called the fiscal year one of "record financial performance," noting the results were especially strong given the prior year included both the Super Bowl and a presidential election.
Fox's free ad-supported streaming service Tubi benefitted directly from the tournament, with its World Cup hub attracting over 20M viewers across the event.
Two early-round match broadcasts generated two of the highest traffic days in Tubi's history, according to Murdoch.
Tubi now has 110M monthly active users for the fiscal year, and its growth has been central to Fox's ad strategy as traditional pay TV subscriber losses have pressured distribution revenue.
Murdoch said the company had one of its "strongest Upfronts in our history with double digit growth in volume."
Fox One, Fox's subscription streaming service priced at $19.99 a month, also saw a World Cup lift.
Murdoch said the service "continues to exceed our expectations" and that the World Cup drove new sign-ups with strong retention rates following the tournament.
Critically for Fox, he confirmed the company continues "to see minimal cannibalization of our traditional pay TV business" from Fox One.
Murdoch described Fox One subscribers as "truly incremental," meaning they represent net-new customers rather than cord-cutters migrating from pay TV.
The service is also available in a bundle with Disney's ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming platform, which Murdoch said Fox would continue exploring.
Fox's distribution revenue for the quarter rose 5%, partly driven by Fox One's performance.
The results land as Fox is pursuing a proposed $22B acquisition of Roku, a deal that could expand its advertising reach and combine Tubi with The Roku Channel.
Full-year advertising revenue was up 7%, a figure that underscores how heavily the quarterly number leaned on the World Cup's concentrated ad spend.
