Amazon Wants More Prime Members — Here’s What’s on Offer

Ahead of Prime Day on June 23–26, Amazon is rolling out some of its most aggressive membership promotions yet. Prime normally costs $139 a year or $14.99 a month, but the company is slashing prices for select groups as it looks to bring more shoppers into its ecosystem before the sale begins.
- Amazon’s Prime Visa credit card is offering an instant $200 gift card upon approval with no spending requirement, a limited-time offer through July 9.
- Young adults aged 18–24 can access Prime free for six months, then pay $7.49/month — roughly half the standard monthly rate.
Alternative Prime paths: Shoppers who aren’t students or don’t qualify for Amazon’s flagship offers still have several ways to access Prime at a lower cost. Options include a free 30-day trial, sharing benefits through Amazon Household, and discounted $6.99 monthly memberships for EBT and government-assistance recipients. Those with less-established credit can receive an $80 Amazon gift card upon approval for the Prime Store Card, while users can earn Amazon gift cards through rewards apps and apply the credits toward their Prime subscription.
